Oct. 5, 2023: Lâmo Sheepskin Inc. has donated over 6,000 pairs of shoes from its Lâmo and Oomphies brands to Maui residents affected by the wildfires in August. The donations, valued at more than $215,000, were distributed through the Red Cross on Sept. 30 to those impacted by the Lahaina fire. According to the company, cars lined up for three miles to access the Red Cross donations. “The wildfires were devastating, and we wanted to show the people of Maui that the world is behind them,” said Brent Williams, sales rep at Lâmo Sheepskin and a Lahaina-area resident. “As a company, we knew we could do something. We pulled together as many shoes as we could and shared our love and support for the islanders.” The company was aided by its distribution center, PPM Fulfillment, and Carrier TQL and Carrier Front Line.
