While fans await more details on the upcoming three-way collaboration between Fragment Design, Union and Jordan Brand, an early on-foot look of at least one variation of the sneaker has surfaced. Fragment Design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara was out and about over the weekend, including appearing at artist Tom Sachs’ “Space Program: Infinity” exhibition in Seoul. And although Sachs was the man of the hour at that event, it was Fujiwara’s footwear that had sneaker circles buzzing on social media. The designer wore a Fragment Design x Union x Air Jordan 1 in a never-before-seen white-and-black colorway. From what can be seen, the sneaker features a black base with white leather overlays and combines the respective brand marks of Fragment Design and Union. The shoe’s tooling code is printed across its midsole — a staple of Fragment Design’s collaborations — while Union is represented through its collar tag and zig-zag stitching. Fragment Design’s stamped lightning bolt logo also appears near the heel.
