Team Brazil athletes are representing an iconic Brazilian brand at the Paris Olympics, slipping on flip-flops from Havaianas as part of their official uniform. This marks a continuation of the company’s collaboration with the Brazilian Olympic Committee. The uniforms were presented at an event in Rio de Janeiro on April 17 before the start of the Paris Olympics. Athletes are expected to don their official uniforms again for the Opening Ceremony on Friday. A closer look at Team Brazil’s Havaianas. The Olympic athletes are set to wear classic thong flip flops from the popular brand, designed in a green colorway to represent the country’s flag; in addition to the Havaianas branding, the strap includes the Brazilian flag. Team Brazil’s uniform is designed by a popular Brazilian fast fashion company known as Riachuelo, which crafted outfits inspired by the country’s culture. The rest of the uniform includes white skirts and pants, striped shirts and a denim jacket emblazoned with “Brasil” on the back; the jackets also feature Brazilian plants and wildlife.
