Auralee’s four-year relationship with New Balance has been bountiful while maintaining a harmonious color palette throughout. Joining the series of soft, monochromatic looks soon will be two versions of the 1906R. A blueish-grey dubbed “flint stone” defines the darker of the two versions. The color is complemented by additional shades of blue and grey throughout the suede and leather overlays, cage, and laces that help form the “N” logo for the shoe’s trademark flourish. A darker, almost purple-blue then forms the terry collar lining — bringing a plush flourish not typically found on the model. Making the most overt play at contrast, the color-blocked sole unit makes use of a “pistachio shell” color along with more shades of grey. Various shades of cream and off-white form the other pair, and your guess is as good as any to pick out which ones are suited best for the names “bone white” or “mojave desert.” The darkest cream is to be found on the midsole, which takes on a more straight forward color arrangement, while the terry collar lining takes on a shade not dissimilar to the pistachio nut. On both versions of the shoe, you’ll also find a “distressed white waxing treatment”
