Birkenstock Teams Up With Tekla on Cozy Shoe and Sleepwear Collection

Birkenstock has teamed up with Copenhagen-based homeware brand Tekla for the first time on a limited collection of footwear and sleepwear. The tie-up, which is part of the German brand’s 1774 designer collection, sees Birkenstock’s signature Nagoya slip-on clog and Uji sandal updated with new details – like elongated straps on the shoes’ overlap fastening detail and hand stitching – and premium materials. Footwear is crafted in a balanced range of subtle and saturated block colorways taken from Tekla’s signature color palette. Designed for “moments of comfort,” the footwear range introduces four monochromatic colorways in Slate, Straw, Mauve and Powder, used across a material mix to give a serene, “dipped in color” finish. Birkenstock’s distinct cork footbed is covered in soft shearling for added comfort, finished with a smooth Nappa leather heel wrap. All shoes are made in Germany and come in a tonal, poplin pillow sham-style dust bag and co-branded shoe box made from recycled paper. As for the sleepwear, the collaboration includes an oversized kaftan; an elongated long-sleeved shirt with a straight hem, buttoned cuffs and a stand collar; and pants and shorts with a single leg pleat for extra volume.
