So It's 40 Degrees Outside? Here's What to Wear

The cold-weather season is filled with peppermint lattes, an influx of snowstorm predictions, and an undeniable number of wardrobe woes. As the weather inches closer to the freezing temperatures of winter and our summer linens find a new home in storage, an internal monologue oftentimes runs through our minds: A puffer jacket? Definitely. A wool coat? Strong maybe.

As the cold weather also rings in the holiday season, the last thing we want to worry about is sitting in front of our closets wondering what's weather appropriate and what's not. Luckily, we can look to the few that seem to have mastered the art of frigid weather dressing and shop pieces that'll easily solve this seemingly constant fashion mystery.

Of course, the statement coat is still in the picture. Layer on top with your favorite boots.
Who said only sweatpants can take on cold weather? Get a pair of leather leggings that will not only keep you warm but also channel your inner cool.
A houndstooth jacket is a great top layer for the in-between season.
Why settle for a beanie? A warm beret is just as chic.
A light coat paired with a large scarf is an adjustable solution for in-between season woes.
Need something that's not as heavy as a puffer but warmer than a light coat? A leather trench is never a bad idea.
There's no outfit that a pair of light-wash jeans can't fix.
Nothing says colder weather more than fold-over boots.
Fall dressing isn't limited to neutral colors. Why not get festive with orange or a bright blue?
The turtleneck is a go-to cold-weather remedy. They do the job of keeping you warm with ease and keep you looking sophisticated.
As the days get colder, soak in every moment you have left with your favorite denim skirt layered under your favorite trench.
On the days the weather does turn harsh, put on your favorite puffer jacket.
Though winter calls for more outerwear, never forget about what's under! Break out your favorite statement dress for exciting layering.
Get out your favorite tracksuit for comfort.
And animal print is never out of season.
