Susan Feldman is the co-founder of One Kings Lane and In the Groove, a style destination where she shares her age-defying outfits and shopping tips. Feldman is also our resident style expert here at Who What Wear, and she’s shared everything from the basics she packs for every trip to the style mistakes she won't repeat. Today, we’ve tapped her to discuss spring staples—five items she's wearing on repeat, to be specific.
Spring has (almost) sprung, and usually, around this time I’d be looking out for spring trends and getting excited about what to try. This year is obviously different. I’m actually not even sure what the trends are, but that’s what Who What Wear is for, right? I don’t know if you can call them trends, but there are certainly pieces I keep gravitating towards. That means sticking to what I’m comfortable in, and pieces that I know work for me with a little twist.
I’m still buying staples, but the versions I’m buying for my seasonal refresh have a little extra oomph to them. For example, instead of my usual plain t-shirt, I’ve been picking up a cheeky graphic tee. Because who couldn’t use an extra smile these days? Playing around with proportions and sizing has also been really fun this year, especially when it means a more comfortable fit. My go-to white shirts and blazers have all gotten an oversized, menswear-inspired makeover. I’m even excited about shoulder pads again!
The best part about these three “trends”? They’ll last a lot longer than just a season and work for anyone, at any age.
After a long year of sweats, I’m finally ready for a more polished look. Oversized, shoulder-padded blazers are a perfect transitional piece.
No one loves a great white tee shirt more than me. But this spring, I needed a little more to get excited about. And every time I pass by a mirror in one of these graphic tees, it makes me smile.
The boot cut is back, baby. I love how flattering they are, and how easily you can dress them up or down.
After borrowing my hubby's shirt time and time again, I thought it was finally time to invest in one of my own. There are so many great options out there these days for oversized white shirts, and the runways this season confirm it's a staple worth owning.
I admit I have a number of loafers in my closet already, but given the last year I wanted something that put a little pep in my step and these updates on the classic flat are doing the trick.
Next up, read about the 3 things I'm retiring from my closet in 2021 (and what stays).
