9 Affordable Fall Trends That Just Made Their Way Into My Nordstrom Cart

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty much ready to put summer 2020 behind us. It's been a tough one for many reasons, but on a more surface level, being outdoors in the heat (where it's safer), is challenging. But something that's giving me a bit of a mental escape lately is shifting the focus to my fall wardrobe, and Nordstrom is obviously a great place to start.

First things first, I gave myself a little F/W 20 runway refresher. While some of the trends that were presented may not hit Nordstrom's stock for a while, there are quite a few that I found to be readily available, and at prices that won't cause sticker shock. Specifically, you'll find a color trend or two, some lovely fall dresses, basics, tops to wear with jeans, and several more lovely fall styles to look forward to wearing—some of which you could even start wearing now.

Without further ado, keep scrolling to shop nine major fall trends at affordable prices on Nordstrom.

Pictured: Gucci F/W 20. Pretty vintage collars have been adorning blouses for much of this year (you've probably seen them on Instagram), and the trend is only heating up for fall, as Gucci proved via its new collection.
Pictured: Marques'Almeida F/W 20. Burgundy in the fall is hardly groundbreaking, but the autumnal color was truly all over the F/W 20 runways—from head to toe.
Black dresses are undoubtedly a fall wardrobe staples, but they have a tendency to get a little boring. That's not the case this season. Little black dresses with unique details and shapes are the only black dresses that matter next season. Take note and join me in daydreaming about this Area dress.
Pictured: Cushnie F/W 20. FYI, Velvet is back, folks. The trend comes and goes but it's here for fall 2020. Nordstrom may be a little sparse on the trend at the moment but as fall approaches, there will be plenty of velvet items to choose from—mark my words.
Pictured: Bottega Veneta F/W 20. Just here to remind you that fall fashion can be just as fun as summer fashion is. Case in point? F/W 20's fringe trend. It was a big component of Bottega Veneta's fall collection, which says a lot.
Pictured: Rejina Pyo F/W 20. Believe it or not, off-the-shoulder tops and dresses are back after cooling off over the past few years. The styles for fall are polished and available in styles both fancy and casual.
Pictured: Jil Sander F/W 20. We've grown accustomed to seeing puffed sleeves everywhere at this point, and the sleeve shapes are only going to get more dramatic for fall.
Pictured: Khaite F/W 20. Khaite has proven to be a major trendsetter in recent seasons, and one trend everyone was buzzing about after its F/W show at NYFW was the showstopping cutout pieces. Plenty of other designers also embraced the daring trend.
Pictured: Off-White F/W 20. Gold chain necklaces have become a favorite among the fashion crowd, but they're getting even chunkier for fall. Consider wearing one as the perfect first step in transitioning your summer wardrobe to fall.

Next up, 22 shoes so good Nordstrom can barely keep them in stock.
